SVG Optimizer
Shrink SVG files without changing how they look. VectorForge runs SVGO multipass optimization right in your browser — and deliberately preserves the viewBox, so responsive scaling keeps working after optimization. You see exactly how many bytes and what percentage you saved.
How to use
- 1 Paste your SVG markup into the editor, or drop an .svg file anywhere on the page.
- 2 Press the Optimize button in the toolbar — the editor updates with the minified result.
- 3 Check the saved-bytes notice, then copy or download the optimized SVG.
Frequently asked questions
Does optimization change how my SVG looks?
No. SVGO only removes redundancy — metadata, excess precision, whitespace. Use the live preview to verify the result renders identically.
Why do you keep the viewBox?
Some optimizers drop the viewBox when width and height are present, which silently breaks responsive scaling. This tool forces viewBox preservation.
Can I get my original SVG back after optimizing?
Yes — just paste or re-drop the original file. Nothing is overwritten unless you copy or download the optimized result.
